DESCRIPTION: (1900s) Edwin Ferris built the original octagonal Boathouse in 1903. It was the only major structure on the waterfront until 1919. The restaurant was famous for its tasty clam chowder. It was torn down in the 1930s, and its replacement dedicated in 1940.
